hi mr. c!

this is not about mulitplying polynomiels (spelling?) but I cnouldn't find a section for my question, so im gonna post it here.

when you gave us the blank test, (i know that it is due tommorrow) I know you went over them in class, but there are still two questions that I don't understand.

can you explain

#3- simplify:
(-17.4)^4 * (-17.4)^-3

and

#10 rewrite as a result in scientific notation:

(2.2*10^6)/ (8.8*10^-3)

please helpp!!!

thanks!

a^4 * a^-3 would translate to what?

a^4 / a^3 right????

a*a*a*a / a*a*a = what?

Now, relating the above to #3, what was "a" subtituting for??

#10)
Can you reduce 2.2/8.8? 1/4 or 2.5, right? How about 10^6/10^-3... that's 10^6-(-3) or 10^9, right?

That leaves you with:
.25 x 10^9

Not quite in scientific notation just yet, can u do the rest??
