can you give us a couple of sample problems?

Uhh... the homework is a good place to start.

The quikcheks listed on the website for sections 9.1 & 9.2 are good. The 9.3 quikchek uses some terminology we haven't covered yet.

Can you graph: x^2-7x+6 ??
Make an x-y table and graph-away!

okay so on the homework... it say to determine the vertex and x-intersepts of the graph.

okay so i have some questions

i know the formula for the vertex is -b/2a only one problem...
how do i find the original equation of the line??? (all it shows is the graph??)

PLEASE answer ASAP someone!!!

Okay calm down, deep breaths. In the words of Mr. C you are attempting a field goal and are saying we should try bunting. Think back to the beginning of the year, when we looked at simple lines. You want to use a formula to find the vertex but it is right there looking at you. The vertex is where the parabola is at the middle. Just look at the graph and see where it stops going down or up and where it starts going down or up. Also, for the x-intercepts, we know the x-intercept is where y=0. Where are there any coordinate pairs where y=0? It is good that you are looking for a way to use the formula but for this we can just look and see.

oooohhhh haha i didn't even see that....i was thinking way out of the box because it seemed too simple thanks so much though soval =]

just one more question....

i did the homework and then attempted problems 23-26 becasue i thought that they were like the ones assigned in the homework but they definitly weren't...when i went to check my answers I was WAYY off

i have no problem not understanding this as long as it is going to be taught to us...but we don't have to know this material for the quiz, right?

p.s. thanks again soval !!

Nicely done, guys!

Yup, 23-26 are coming soon, as they say in the theatre!

... and I like that field goal/bunting line. I don't remember saying it, but I'm definitely going to use it next year!!
