If when i'm done doing the elimination method and I get 0=0 that means that any point on the line works right

Well, I'm not entirely sure, but I bet your right. But why not just graph it, as a double check because Mr. Chamberlain reccomended that didn't he?

he did dut I still have a lot of hw from other subjects to do. I'll just go with my gut.

for #24 on Pg 394, you have

4x-5y=2
600x-750y=300

can I divide the second equation 50 or can you only multiply when your using the elimination method

it is much easier to find a number to multiply and then subtract the equations than to do wat i think u are trying to say

You can ALWAYS follow the GOLDEN RULE of equation transformation!

Do unto one side, whatever you do unto the other side. Addition, subtraction multiplication AND division.

And then think about this... when you divide by 50, couldn't you "re-phrase" it to say you're multiplying by ??

And when your system yields 0=0... will that be true for x=8... for x=-9... for x=-13.714?? Hmmm... it appears to be true no matter what x (or y) is... sounds like an awful lot of (x,y) combos will work.
