Can somone help me with the problem set? I have no clue on how to do it.

You need to be a little more specific with your question in order to get help. I'll give it a try anyway...

In order to solve problems using ALGEBRA, you need to define variables (that's your equation pre-writing) and then define the RELATIONSHIPS betweeb the variables (you will express the relationships as EQUATIONS). You'll need to read and re-read the word problem in order to do both of the above steps.
For exmaple, in #5, what don't you know about the final mixture? You don't know how many pounds of Mountain Grown (MG) and Valley Sown (VS) wiil be included. Sounds like each one of those could be defined as a variable. When you define your variables, be explicit (i.e. detailed) in your definition. DON'T just say that m represents MG, DO SAY that m represents the pounds of MG. So...

m is the pounds of MG
v is the pounds of VS

Now, can we establish relationships between these equations? The problem tells us that 90 pounds will be in the final mixture. Do we also know the total price of the final mixture? Hmmm... well we know how many pounds and, oh yeah, we know the price. So now we have two relationships:

m + v = 90 and...
7m + 4v = 540 since 540 = (6)(90)

Now for the easy part... you simply SOLVE the system of equations!

Good Luck!
